Clean sweep for La Poste with CNG-powered Renault Range D

French post office La Poste has taken delivery of a Renault Range D Wide NGV vehicle – its first to be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG).

La Poste already operates one of the world’s largest fleets of electric vehicles, and the CNG 4x2 rigid addition is delivering mail and parcels from its Rungis depot, near Paris.

The vehicle has a range of 400km and has a self-service fuel station at the depot. CNG enables particulate emissions to be reduced by up to 98% and NOx by up to 80%, when compared with a diesel vehicle.

The organisation is also testing cars and cycles powered by hydrogen, and is collaborating with Renault on a Maxity Electric truck running on fuel cells.
