The new Enviro400 has 84 Lazzerini high-backed seats, trimmed in Camira leather-look vinyl and fitted with three-point safety belts, alongside an additional tip-up seat in the easily accessible wheelchair space. A saloon air-chill system is provided on the upper deck, giving passengers a comfortable experience whilst on the road, with drivers benefitting from cab air-conditioning.
It also has a radio and public address system, digital tachograph and a Centrad CCTV system installed to give Commonwealth Coaches additional operational flexibility and peace of mind.
The versatile specification will enable Commonwealth Coaches to use the bus on a variety of private hire and contract work including school services.
Directors Ajay Sandhu & Rana Sandhu, whose father founded the business in 1963, said: “We are pleased to have chosen the Enviro400 double deck bus to add to our fleet. The vehicle will ensure we keep to our high standards for our passengers whilst out on the road. Thanks to Mark Taylor for the smooth handover of the vehicle.”
Alexander Dennis regional sales manager Mark Taylor added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Ajay and the team on this supply of the market-leading Enviro400, which is the perfect dual-purpose vehicle for Commonwealth’s operations. Ordered off the back of a successful demonstration, I look forward to seeing this vehicle become a great revenue maker for their business.”
