The takeover establishes R&J Strang as a wholly owned subsidiary of Continental UK Group Holdings from 1 July.
Continental has a longstanding relationship with R&J Strang, which is part of the Conti360 fleet services network.
Okan Tamer, managing director for Continental Tyre Group, said: “This step will further improve Continental’s service to commercial vehicle fleets across the important central belt of Scotland.”
The R&J Strang deal is the latest move by Continental to build its commercial fleet service offering across the UK & Ireland, and follows the tyre maker’s acquisition of Bandvulc in 2016.
Arthur Gregg, managing director at Bandvulc, says: “The R&J Strang acquisition helps Continental to expand our service offering in strategic points across the UK, which is excellent news for our customers.”
