DAF has confirmed that it will be showcasing its Future Truck Chassis Concept (FTCC) at this month’s Commercial Vehicle Show (25-27 April; NEC, Birmingham).
The FTCC (pictured) is 500kg than DAF’s 12-tonne LF chassis thanks to several patented chassis designs and the use of lightweight materials and components, including the use of aluminium.
One of the patented designs involves the integrated body floor structure, which incorporates the body sub-frame into the main chassis side members.
Designed primarily as a distribution vehicle, DAF’s FTCC was developed as a collaborative project with Sapa Profiles UK and CSA Group, and co-funded by Innovate UK.
