Six new Volvo FH 6x2 tractor units have been released into service by Devereux Transport of Billingham.
Managing director Ken Devereux reports that fuel economy of the FH13-460s is already good: "We're seeing between 10mpg and up to 11mpg, depending on the run they're doing," he comments.
The first two FHs are on Volvo's Flexi-Lease programme, with Devereux able to can take advantage of a breakout clause, if required, after only 12 months into the 24-month contract.
Devereux states that having the option to return the trucks after 12 months gives him peace of mind – noting that operators like him, who are trying the Volvo product for the first time in a number of years, can't go too far wrong.
All the Volvo FH trucks in the Devereux Transport fleet, including those that are on Volvo's Flexi-Lease programme, have been equipped with Dynafleet Telematics, not least to provide accurate fuel economy measurement and management.
All the trucks were supplied by the Stockton-on-Tees branch of Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland.
