DIBS Distribution has installed a high-tech solution from Paragon Software Systems to reduce transport costs and improve customer service.
The routing and scheduling system will integrate with its Navman Wireless satellite vehicle tracking and provide live fleet activity information via Paragon's Fleet Controller option.
DIBS Distribution's delivery fleet comprises compartmented 13- and 18-tonne trucks that provide 960 deliveries every week. The total tonnage for DIBS' weekly operation is about 180 tonnes.
"We selected Paragon's software to help bring new efficiencies to our transport and distribution operation," explains Lee Payne, transport manager for DIBS Distribution.
"It will allow us to optimise our routes and delivery schedules for each week and the addition of Fleet Controller's vehicle tracking and text messaging facilities will give us the ability to provide our customers with accurate ETAs for their deliveries," he continues.
