DVSA update on digital services for operators

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has published an update on its digital strategy for commercial vehicle services, including testing of HGVs and trailers, and for ATF operators.

A commercial vehicle services (CVS) testing app is already being rolled out for HGV and trailer testing at ATF sites and this will be completed by March, says the agency.

The app enables vehicle standards assessors to see vehicle-specific information at the time of test, to capture test results on the test lane, and to print test certificates from their mobile devices.

DVSA says the software will also be expanded to capture specialist tests, such as individual vehicle approval, and this should be ready by this spring.

A new platform for ATF operators is also in development and will be tested from spring this year, with full rollout planned by the end of the summer.

The ‘manage your ATF’ portal will be hosted on the gov.uk website, says DVSA. The service (see image) will enable operators to make payments directly to their account, view their account balance, download invoices and see vehicles tested at their premises in real time.
