Aluminium bodybuilder Wilcox Commercial Vehicles says it is growing its business by offering improved payload, faster tipping, reduced weight and better reliability.
Chris Bartlett, sales and engineering director at Wilcox, explains that it has adopted Edbro's CX14 tipping cylinder on the company's current generation of lightweight rigid bodies.
That choice applies to all its tough lightweight aluminium tipper bodies for rigid and tipping trailers, including its Monocoque 'U'-shape, plank and Wilcolite models, in capacities up to 44-tonnes.
"With our new designs of lightweight trailers, we are helping customers to offset the added weight of equipment, such as Adblue tanks, pumps and SCR [selective catalytic reduction] catalysts," comments Bartlett .
"However, the gains that we have achieved in this area could easily be forfeited if we chose the wrong type of tipping gear.
"By using Edbro's CX14 on 8x4 rigid trucks, we complement the savings achieved from our lightweight designs, giving our customers an industry-leading package that provides that extra bit of capacity," he adds.
