Flintshire-based Edge Transport has taken delivery of a Volvo 26-tonne FE 6x2 rigid chassis, with special livery to mark the operator’s 85th year in business.
Supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials, the FE is powered by a D8K engine delivering 316bhp and driving through a 12-speed, I-Shift automated manual transmission system.
The 5,800mm wheelbase, rear air suspension chassis is fitted with curtainside bodywork by Tiger Trailers and a Dhollandia fold-away tail-lift.
Edge specified Volvo’s Comfort Cab, which offers extra space that can be equipped with a bed for one person or be used as office space with storage compartments.
The FE is the latest in a number of Volvo truck deliveries to Edge Transport this year; 33 of the 35-strong fleet are now Volvo vehicles.
All of its Volvo vehicles are supplied on five-year contract hire with Volvo Gold R&M contracts.
