Edge Transport fleet boosted by Volvo rigid additions

The promise of overnight servicing was one of the factors that helped Edge Transport decide to buy three Volvo rigid truck as fleet additions.
"Sometimes the financial side of acquisition needs to be enhanced by well-presented sales argument,s and the offer of overnight servicing alongside a highly competitive quotation were some of the main gains for us," confirms operations director Richard Pridding. Based at the company's Wrexham depot, the new Volvos are the first of the marque to join the Edge fleet and comprise one FL 15-tonne rigid, a FL 18-tonner and a FE three-axle 26-tonner. All have bee equipped with CBS curtainside bodies and feature cantilever-type tail-lifts. Safety equipment includes blind spot cameras front and rear, on-board telematics and tail lifts with a large 1.8-metre floor and folding safety rails. Supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials, the three rigids have been supplied on a contract hire basis. They will be serviced and maintained at the Volvo dealer's Deeside facility.
