The system has been implemented on more than 200 trailers across Europe, meaning that Europa can now share live fleet information with sub-contractors.
Richard Litchfield, group IT director, Europa Worldwide, says the firm’s Dartford branch, for example, uses Masternaut data in the office to track trailers, while Europa’s hubs have been ‘geofenced’ so that alerts can be issued and depots prepared to receive trailers.
“We met with and trialled a number of suppliers, but Masternaut immediately understood our requirements and business objectives, particularly around our API [application program interface] needs,” states Litchfield.
“We’ve built a great relationship with Masternaut, and the Connect platform provides the right solution that fits all our needs... It is cost effective and has the scope to build out into other areas in the future.”
Masternaut Connect’s API is designed to allow simple integration with other system, meaning Europa can link Connect with its overall transport management software.
For Litchfield, it means that fleet managers can spend less time providing other departments with information, allowing them to concentrate on managing the fleet.
Masternaut Connect provides location data to automatically calculate scheduling of jobs, and populate dispatch systems with live vehicle locations.
