Temperature-controlled distribution firm Hiltons Distribution has expanded its 25-strong fleet with three Euro 6 DAF CF85 460 Spacecab 44-tonne tractor units, supplied on contract hire by Ryder.
The CFs are the first DAFs to join the fleet and will go into operation primarily on Hiltons' contract with Bakkavar Foods, collecting product from factories and delivering to its hub in Spalding.
"We chose Euro 6 specification because we want to run the most modern and technically efficient trucks and are keen to help reduce the carbon footprint of our fleet," says Philip Hilton, who founded the Peterborough-based business 25 years ago.
"As the business grew, I found that contract hire was the ideal solution to keep pace with the demands of an expanding business," he says.
"I've outsourced from Ryder for a number of years and worked with them on the supply of the new trucks to mark our anniversary, as we have strong Ryder and dealer support in the area."
