David Hunt, vice president and managing director Ryder Europe, says it's not just about the trucks. Ryder has undertaken a programme of training and investment in technology to support its customers, he says, explaining that sales staff have received up to six days Euro 6 training.
A new customer care video has also been produced to help customers to get the best from Euro 6 trucks, and to deal with the new technology.
And across Ryder's workshop network, the company has invested £500,000 in Euro 6 diagnostics, while technicians have benefited from Euro 6 training.
"We're delighted to be offering our customers the opportunity to rent Euro 6 tractors from a range of leading marques," states Hunt.
"With the introduction of these new tractors, Ryder will have one of the largest Euro 6 fleets in the country," he continues.
"Our significant associated investment in Euro 6 training and service equipment also allows us to service and maintain Euro 6 vehicles across our UK location network, which we believe is a unique proposition for an independent rental and contract hire provider."
