Warwickshire-based BTT previously used multiple suppliers for parts for its 150-strong mixed fleet, which is maintained in-house.
The deal – now in its third year – sees Ford & Slater managing the operator’s imprest stock holding, offering 24-hour supply of genuine DAF and all-makes TRP parts for the fleet of trucks and trailers. (Imprest stock is kept on a customer's property, but remains owned by the supplier until it is used or consumed; this is the contractual principle under which vending machines operate).
Alan Ball, director of BTT, says: “Having a one-stop-shop parts supply is a huge benefit to a company like ours, which has a mixed fleet. Ford & Slater’s parts package is competitively priced, products are always in stock and always of high quality.”
The contract “has definitely saved us money”, he adds, but that’s not all: “The most noticeable improvement we have seen is the time savings. Ford & Slater know how we work, what we need, and when and where we need it.
“We no longer have to worry about what we have in stock or where we have to get the parts from.”
