HiVision moves crane operation to the truck cabin and works with Loglift and Jonsered forestry cranes. The system was unveiled earlier this year at the Bauma exhibition and has been demonstrated around Europe and in Japan.
HiVision has four cameras on top of the forestry crane that give a realistic 270-degree view to the operator. This enables the crane operator to see the working area and operate the crane from the truck cabin using virtual reality goggles.
“We have received excellent feedback and there's been a lot of expectation of opening sales to the market. It’s easy to see the advantages for the crane operators in terms of safety and comfort,” says Jon Lopez, Hiab’s vice president for forestry cranes.
In June, HiVision won a KWF award, said to be the ‘Oscar’ for the forestry business, with judges praising its pioneering ideas for crane control.
