To be delivered throughout the year, 70 of the new tippers plus a pair of tipper grabs will be split between Fox Brothers’ own fleet and those of Leyland-based Hurt Plant Hire, which was acquired by the Group in September 2020. A further two tipper grabs with 3-way bodies are for JJ O’Grady of Bamber Bridge, which Fox also acquired last August. The remaining two bodies are for a pair of fully electric tippers due to go into the Fox fleet in the springtime.
“Thompsons bodies are the natural choice for a major fleet order,” says Fox’s Group workshop manager Ian Coulton. “Thompsons is also the only tipper bodybuilder that can offer an ‘around-the-clock’ aftersales support service that a company of our size now demands. Thompsons operates on a scale that no other UK tipper bodybuilder can match, and in today’s business environment that’s the level of resource and commitment we really need.”
