From today (1 October 2014), the familiar paper tax disc no longer needs to be displayed on a vehicle.
The ruling applies to all tax discs, including existing discs with months remaining to run after today's date.
Theses can now be removed from vehicles and destroyed.
In Northern Ireland, however, drivers will still need to display their MoT discs.
