Goodyear has launched a new light truck tyre, designed to maximise mileage and reduce the total cost of ownership.
The EfficientGrip Cargo was tested against two other brands by independent auditing body DEKRA – with the Goodyear product outperforming its rivals by more than 21,000km.
The test was carried out on a Renault Master van at the Mireval Proving Ground, France, from July to October last year.
The EfficientGrip Cargo delivered 40% better wear performance than one brand, and 32% more than the other.
Goodyear says this is thanks to improvements in tyre compound for increased wear resistance, and better construction with a higher volume of rubber.
