Guthrie Engineering Services equips for bendy buses

Guthrie Engineering Services, has taken delivery of a set of six Totalkare cable-free lifts following the opening of its Bishop's Stortford workshop.

The company, which specialises in the repair, refurbishment and maintenance of bendy buses and airport transport vehicles, says it has seen growing demand and needed the flexibility of Totalkare’s lifting systems.

“Originally we delivered a mobile service from our bases in Kent, but the new workshop was an essential part of our plans to meet growing demand ... from mainstream coach and bus operators as well as a number of major airports,” comments managing director, Daniel Guthrie.

“Once we found suitable premises, it was then vital we equipped the workshop with equipment that matched our own operations, both in the terms of flexibility and reliability.”

The Totalkare 6cf lifts specified are in constant use – positioned whoever they are needed to match the profile of the vehicles being worked on.

“Vehicles are in and out of the workshop, but some projects can take several weeks to complete, so it is vital that we make best use of the space we have,” explains Guthrie.

“The new lifts enable us to do this, and the lack of cables means there is less risk of trips or falls.”
