Gwynedd Shipping sees clear benefits with TruTac

Gwynedd Shipping is reporting multiple fleet efficiency and compliance improvements since implementing software from TruTac.

With its fleet of 87 tractors and 650 trailers, the Holyhead-based operator offers transport services in the UK and Ireland for clients from a range of sectors, including aerospace, automotive, FMCG retail, pharmaceutical and steel.

“With such a diverse operation, we need to embrace multiple skill sets to safely and securely handle virtually every type of cargo,” says group transport manager Howard Owen, adding that close monitoring of vehicles and drivers is needed “to maintain the highest levels of safety and commercial efficiency”.

Gwynedd replaced its existing software with TruTac’s TruAnalysis module, which it says is providing easier and more accurate tachograph analysis and management, driver debriefing, compliance control and instant drivers’ hours reporting.

“We have five depots strategically located throughout the UK and Ireland and our delivery routes are literally changing every hour of the day,” says Owen.

“Using the TruTac system however, we can see any driver’s hours on screen and determine at a glance if there is time available to accommodate a new assignment. This is perfect for route planning, WTD considerations and, of course, good customer service.”

TruAnalysis also offers intuitive navigation; auto reports; DVSA Earned Recognition reporting; multi-site and divisions control; and secure online document storage and retrieval.

“The system does everything we need,” adds Owen. “Above all, it’s easy to use and all the info is on one screen – clear, concise and compliant. Without doubt, it’s an integral part of our business operation.”
