Bus operator Network Warrington has replaced a ramp at its main depot with a heavy-duty, four-post lift from Stertil Koni.
The 17.5-tonne capacity ST4175 lift was specified after a demonstration convinced Network Warrington of the benefits of moving to a lift, which the operator says is already improving workshop efficiency.
Engineers now have unrestricted access to the underside of raised vehicles, as the lift has no cross beams.
Also, a 8,200mm platform with a low drive-on height of 240mm means every vehicle in the operator's 100-strong fleet – including low-floor buses – can be driven on to the lift safely and easily.
Ian Parker, engineering manager for Network Warrington, explains that all movements are controlled electronically, with a control panel on one of the lifting columns. This also allows engineers to pre-set functions such as vehicle width settings and maximum lifting height.
"The Stertil Koni heavy-duty lift has really improved the efficiency of our workshop," he adds.
