"An event designed to help operators run a better and more organised business." That's the message from organiser of the CV Operator Show, which takes place on 13, 14 and 15th April 2009 at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre (NEC).
Promising more of an engineering experience than the previous commercial vehicle events held at the NEC, Bob Stockl, from show organiser Crystal Communications, believes attendance by fleet operators, transport engineers and technicians will yield great rewards.
"The CV Operator show will be held in two halls of the NEC, one of them the largest exhibition hall in Europe, measuring 25,000m2," says Stockl. "We believe the event will present a well organised visitor with the opportunity to find everyone they need to speak with in a single day.
"We want to encourage operators to run more efficient fleets and, while the CV Operator show is different to a motor show, we would certainly not stop transport managers from buying vehicles for their fleets at the event."
That message comes as Fiat signed up for the CV Operator Show, becoming the eighth LCV manufacturer to confirm its attendance, and helping to push closer to the goal of 300 exhibitors. Stockl expects an influx of exhibitors to book in January, joining a list that currently includes Texa UK, Majorlift Hydraulic Equipment, ArvinMeritor, Michelin Tyre UK, TomTom Work, ATS Euromaster, and VOSA.
One key element of the show will be an appearance by bodybuilders, such as Eberspacher, Tevo and Sortimo. As van use continues to rise – a 40% increase in the last decade has been reported by the Commission for Integrated Transport (CfIT) – companies such as these will be on hand to offer engineering advice and guidance.
