Iveco Eurocargo delivers a bright future in London

External lighting firm David Webster Lighting has added an 18-tonne Iveco Eurocargo 4x2 rigid to its fleet – replacing a Eurocargo that had clocked-up nine years across London and the South East.
The Eurocargo 180E25/P, was supplied by Hendy Van & Truck and has been built with a dropside body from Wessex Bodies, with an on-board compressor and HIAB XS122B-3 remote control crane. Safety features include a colour reversing camera, reversing alarm, cab rear window and six mirrors for best possible all-round visibility. Danny Melville, branch manager at David Webster Lighting's Mitcham branch, says these also aid the truck's impressive manoeuvrability around town – helped by the cab width of 2.1m and an impressive steering angle of 52°. "The previous Eurocargo served us well and was so popular with the team we kept extending its life on the fleet," says Melville. "Its strong performance over the years was the driving factor which led us to replace it with the latest generation model," he adds. The new Eurocargo will operate on street lighting contracts in central London, being used to erect and remove street lamps of all sizes up to and including the largest cast-iron heritage columns located around Westminster.
