Bristol-based Jam Inns Ice, commercial and catering ice supplier to the South West and South Wales, has taken delivery of a bespoke vehicle box body by Paneltex.

The vehicle, based on a 3.5 tonne Isuzu N35 supplied by Commercial Motors Newport, is Jam Inns’ first foray into the world of designed-for-purpose vehicle boxes as well as Jam Inns’ first Paneltex build.

With daily deliveries totalling up to 10 tonnes of ice, it was imperative that this custom vehicle was capable of maintaining freezing temperatures across the delivery area. Sporting a GAH SRF351 freezer with standby and a 3-metre insulated box by Paneltex, the vehicle is capable of maintaining its frosty cargo at -20°C.

Jam Inns director James Maloney worked with Paneltex design engineers to create an innovative design. The box includes a full internal pallet protection system, a lockable sack barrow holder integrated into the nearside rear door and the rear frame, as well as a stow-in-the-roof movable internal bulkhead that allows the creation of two distinct temperature-controlled compartments.
