Power for the VanHool TDX27 comes from a DAF MX-13 engine developing 530bhp and 2,600Nm of torque and the coach has a Allison T525R automatic gearbox.
The TDX27 is a 14.2-metre model with 87 seats plus courier position and is the first new Van Hool double-decker to be handled by the Barnsley dealership since VDL Bus and Coach purchased parts of the Van Hool business.
Johnsons Coaches general manager, Ashley Brown, travelled to VDL in Barnsley to collect the coach, taking the opportunity to drive it back himself.
He said: "It was fantastic to drive our new double-decker home and experience its performance first-hand. This investment is a great step forward for Johnsons, allowing us to accommodate more passengers while maintaining the high standards of comfort and service we’re known for."
This latest addition strengthens Johnsons Coaches' offering for tours and private hire, increasing capacity and enhancing the travel experience for customers.
