Supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, the Suffolk-based operator's latest additions both feature curtainsider bodies by Belle Coachworks, of Lowestoft.
The curved roof bodies are fitted with additional tie-points, as well as 1.5-tonne capacity fully guarded tail-lifts.
The 26-tonne and 12-tonne vehicles, says TMJ's Steve Wells, are enabling the business to schedule more cost-effective deliveries than the previous 15-tonne vehicles they replaced.
"We can now send the right vehicle to the right job, which enables us to maximize payloads and streamline the scheduling of what is a £20 million-a-year business," he says.
The Volvo FE-320 has a 320bhp D8K engine, with I-shift automated transmission, which Wells describes as a "real bonus" for drivers, when delivering in and around London.
TMJ Interiors has achieved the gold standard in FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme), and the FE truck features 360-degree camera equipment, infrared proximity sensors and a cycle alarm.
Both vehicles are supplied with a Volvo Gold R&M contract and each one is expected to cover 60,000km a year.
