Wabco says it supplied several advanced, high performance technologies to Kamaz -Master, the winning team at this year's Dakar Rally.
For Dakar 2013, Wabco provided Kamaz-Master's heavy-duty trucks with secialist air compressors, advanced pressure controls for braking and tyre inflation systems, and Tristop piston-type spring brake cylinders.
"The partnership between Kamaz -Master and Wabco has continued for more than 15 years and we greatly value the company's contribution to our ongoing success through superb engineering and technical support," says Vladimir Chagin, director of NPO Avtosport.
"During a rally, when you have to make split-second decisions, the engine's power and acceleration, as well as the performance and reliability of the braking system are key to success," he continues.
"For example, the performance characteristics of Wabco's braking technologies enable us to stop the vehicle in every conceivable situation."
Kamaz -Master trucks finished in first, second and third place in the race that saw 75 vehicles representing 12 branded competitors, making it the 11th time that the Russian team has won the Dakar.
