Scrivin Logistics specialises in goods logistics across the UK and into Europe. It operates in the exhibitions and events sector, and also transports fragile and data-sensitive goods, as well as offering an urgent delivery service.
The curtainsiders come with the Krone patented Multi Lock side rave: part of the Multi Safe load securing system. It is expected to reduce risk of loads becoming detached during transit. This is important for Scrivin Logistics as it carries loads ranging in size and scale – from arcade machines for events and conferences to high value aircraft parts.
“We needed additional trailers to support our expansion and Krone was the ideal choice,” said Simon Scrivin, founder and director of Scrivin Logistics. “We move a lot of high value and sensitive goods, primarily in and out of mainland Europe, so we needed versatile trailers that keep the loads secure. With Multi Lock we are not limited in how we can strap down the loads which is important to us as they can vary significantly in size and shape.”
The Multi Lock system is said to feature up to 126 strapping points on each side of the trailer, creating more than 3,000 options for securing the load. Each of these strapping points has a 2t capacity, giving a maximum permissible load of 8t over a one-metre length, and is accessible with or without the curtains opened. Multi Lock also integrates with additional options such as screwable pallet stops or lashing rings, a chain adaptor.
The Profi Liners for Scrivin also have a sliding roof, tail lifts, twin tool boxes, and plank storage. The interior is lined with a 30mm thick waterproofed phenolic coated plywood floor.
In addition, they are fitted with Krone Telematics KSC ProPlus, which enables vehicle location tracking, control error messages for the braking system, coupling status and various other WLAN applications.
“These are the first Krone trailers we have had, and we are very impressed,” added Scrivin. “They are a better build quality than the trailers we have had from another manufacturer. Krone trailers are more of a European spec’ build which is exactly what we need.
“I have already placed an additional order for a box trailer and have another liner with a tail lift on order for later this year. I have also purchased a second-hand Krone trailer for the fleet. It’s a 2018 model and we’ve had no issues with it at all - they are very robust.”
