Leyland Trucks celebrates 20 years with Paccar

Lancashire manufacturer Leyland Trucks is this year celebrating 20 years of ownership and investment by US-based Paccar.

Improvements to the 710,000 sq ft facility have taken output from 9,000 to 15,000 trucks in that time.

Investment has seen a new Paccar body production line, a robotic paint facility for truck chassis and electronic work instructions with touchscreen monitors.

Today, Leyland manufactures the full DAF product range of LF, CF and XF vehicles, 40% of which are exported around the world.

The site is also home to a parts distribution centre, built in 2003, which is now one of Paccar’s main European parts hubs for the UK and European DAF dealer networks, as well as supporting other truck makes, buses and trailers.
