Malta take delivery of waste monitoring vacuum tanker

One of the first tankers to feature Whale Tankers' iWeigh waste monitoring and receipt printing system has been delivered to Malta-based Falzon Group.
Whale iWeigh comprises an in-cab mounted display and controller, thermal printer and level sensor – and in this case has also been fitted with an externally mounted LED display. Whale Tankers export manager Andy Norris explains that the company wanted iWeigh for its onboard waste monitoring facility, but is also considering upgrading to predictive axle loading. As for the tanker itself, it is a 9,000 litre VacuumWhale, designed to carry sewage and other non-hazardous sludges, and has been supplied on DAF's LF55 19-tonne gvw 4x2 right hand drive chassis. Falzon Group director Carmel Falzon comments: "We already operate a number of Whale tankers in our fleet. We were keen to have iWeigh on the new vacuum tanker and we are confident [it] will prove a valuable addition to the Falzon Group's expanding vehicle fleet."
