Mercedes Sprinters do the rounds for Ale & Beer

Drinks wholesaler Ale & Beer Supplies has taken delivery of three Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to replace vehicles from another manufacturer which, says the operator, were unreliable and “proved to be a false economy”.

Supplied by dealer Roanza Truck & Van, the Sprinters are long-bodied 313 CDIs and are supplied on hire purchase through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

The vans sport a ‘Sprinter 20’badge on the front wing to mark the model’s 20th anniversary. The special edition option includes air conditioning, satellite navigation, a driver’s comfort seat with arm rest, wheel trims and a chrome grille – a package worth over £2,000, but which added only £750 to the cost of the vehicle.

Chris Lawler, managing director for the St Helens-based operator, says the firm’s previous vehicles failed to deliver: “They were terrible – something was always going wrong. Not only were we were paying a fortune to keep them on the road, but it was also a huge job to meet our delivery schedule, and live up to the dependable service promise we make to customers.”

He adds: “The Sprinters are so much better, in every way. The price difference was negligible and they’re proving far more cost effective to operate, as well as promising the long-term reliability for which Mercedes-Benz is renowned.”

The hire purchase deal includes a Service Care maintenance plan, covering all parts and labour for scheduled servicing.
