Michelin rolls out six new sizes for X Line Energy range

Tyres & Retreads
Michelin has expanded its X Line Energy tyre range with six new fitments, designed primarily for mega-volume trailers, car transporters and low height tractor units.

The X Line Energy multi-position tyres are now available in 315/60 R 22.5, 295/60 R 22.5, and an all-new 355/50 R 22.5 size. Drive variants are offered in 315/60 R 22.5 and 295/60 R 22.5, while the trailer range has been expanded with 445/45 R 19.5 fitments.

All offer improved mileage potential, says Michelin, with the 315/60 R 22.5 and 295/60 R 22.5 all-position tyres projected to offer 30% and 17% more, respectively.

The new fitments, it’s claimed, could save 1.25 litres of fuel per 100km – and up to 2.5 litres per 100km when the tyres are new. This adds up to a fuel saving of £3,500 during the tyres’ first life in service, before being regrooved.

Guy Heywood, Michelin’s commercial director for the UK and Republic of Ireland, says: “The expansion of our X Line Energy range opens up a wealth of fuel-saving potential to more operators – with a tyre combining an ultra-low rolling resistance with the safety, durability and longevity that is the hallmark of Michelin.”

The new tyres are available on both the original equipment and replacement markets.
