Michelin Training Centre works with MWheels on CV wheel safety

Commercial vehicle wheel distributor MWheels is working with the Michelin Training Centre to deliver education on CV wheel safety for up to 1,000 delegates a year, including Michelin staff, military personnel and police collision investigators.

The programme covers information on wheels, fitting and general maintenance, wheel security and the understanding of affiliated parts such as axles, nuts and threads.

MWheels has supplied wheels for displays and on the training vehicle (pictured), posters and additional technical information, including its 10-point wheel check plan.MWheels has also met with the Department for Transport recently, to discuss ways in which the HGV Inspection Manual’s section on wheels can be enhanced to improve vehicle safety.

Initially, MWheels will produce a report on its concerns with the new UK testing regime in relation to EU Directives 2014/45/EU (Periodic) and 2014/47/EU (Roadside), highlighting where it believes the changes do not reflect the newly imposed minimum safety requirements as required by Europe.
