New MAN 26 tonner tanker debuts at FPS

Rigids Tankers
MAN has introduced a new 26 tonne chassis for the fuel-oil home delivery market at the FPS (Federation of Petroleum Suppliers) Expo 2010 in Harrogate yesterday.
TGM 26.340 6x2-4 BL was on tanker manufacturer G.Magyar's stand, with a 'C' day cab, MAN's D08 6.9 litre engine matched to a Tipmatic automated gearbox, rear air suspension with rear lifting and rear steering axle. This is the latest addition to MAN's middleweight TGM range, and the first production chassis was a joint demonstrator with G.Magyar. With an unladen weight of just 6,620kgs and Magyar's aluminium-construction tanker, MAN is confident that the benchmark 20,000 litres of payload can be achieved. MAN's D08 6.9 litre engine develops 340PS using EGR (exhaust gas reirculation) technology, which, as MAN tells us again, allows operators to run without adding AdBlue and achieve Euro 5. For this application, the Magyar tanker body has been equipped with metering equipment from Hamburg-based fuel management company, Alfons Haar. G.Magyar has established quite a foothold in the UK, with, to date, 400 tanker rigid-chassis bodies for British operators.
