Alcoa has launched a commercial truck wheel which, it says, is more durable, easier to maintain and corrosion resistant than its predecessors.
The Dura-Bright EVO wheel extends performance of the previous XBR model, with a claimed 10 times greater resistance to corrosion caused by road salt and weather.
The EVO is also up to three times more resistant to chemicals commonly found in truck cleaning agents, says Alcoa.
Dura-Bright is a surface treatment that penetrates the forged aluminium wheel, allowing long-lasting shine.
The one-piece aluminium structure is also said to make the wheel lighter and stronger than steel versions, so increasing payload and efficiency.
Manufactured at its plant in Hungary, the wheel is now available in Europe and will be available in other markets later this year.
