Waste management company Nordic Recycling has replaced its current waste collection hire fleet with vehicles from vehicle re-manufacturing company Refuse Vehicle Solutions.
"We have found hiring vehicles to be an unreliable solution, so we took the decision to operate our own fleet," explains Sean Spoors, general manager, Nordic Recycling.
"We looked at buying new vehicles, but didn't want that level of capital expenditure, so we investigated the second hand market place and RVS were recommended time and again," he continues.
Spoors says that visiting RVS confirmed the stories. "We liked what we saw and, compared to the other providers we spoke to, they were much more professional and responsive," he says.
After receiving the specification for three vehicles, RVS delivered the first vehicle within eight weeks – a 26-tonne rear-steer Mercedes Econic with Heil Powerlink body, fitted with brand new Zoeller trade bin lift.
The remaining two vehicles, with the same specification, will be delivered by the end of May. Two of the RCVs (refuse collection vehicles) will be fitted with the Environweigh dynamic bin-weighing system, from Vehicle Weighing Solutions.
