Owens Group chooses New Generation MAN TGX Trucks

Welsh logistics firm Owens Group of Llanelli has ordered 77 New Generation MAN TGX 26.470 6×2 tractors for its South Wales and Wrexham operations.

The order will see 27 of the new vehicles being based out of the Owens Group Llanelli depot and 50 based at their Wrexham facility in northeast Wales. The new MAN TGX Trucks, all featuring GM cabs, are replacing competitor vehicles and will boost MAN’s presence to represent almost 50% of Owens Group tractor fleet.

“MAN TGX tractors have played a major part in our vehicle fleet for some years now,” said Eurof Owen, commercial director. “Our MAN trucks have proven robust, reliable, and extremely efficient, and we’re looking forward to the new vehicles arriving.

The new Owens Group TGX’s also features an additional audible handbrake warning system along with standard specification emergency brake assist (EBA), turn assist, lane change support (LCS), lane return assist (LRA), ACC Stop & Go, MAN AttentionGuard, high beam assist, and airbag and seat belt and belt tensioner system.

The new MAN TGX trucks, 6x2 mid-lifts, are all powered by MAN’s latest’s generation D26 Euro6D six-cylinder 12.4 litre engines, which have not only proved to be 8% better on fuel than the predecessor model but also 80kg lighter.
