Plastics supplier slices £10,000 per truck off R&M bill with MAN

Plastics supplier Jonesco has taken delivery of its first Euro 6 MAN 7.5 tonners, after an evaluation revealed it could save £10,000 per vehicle on a five-year repair and maintenance contract compared to its previous supplier.
The two TGL 8.150 BB 4x2s rigids, with manual gearboxes, are now operating out of Preston-based Jonesco's new 3,700 sq m warehouse and distribution centre. Supplied by dealer MAN Truck & Bus Preston and funded through MAN Financial Services, the trucks come with full telematics including EcoStyle driver performance monitoring. "Our five-year, 650,000km R&M contract comes in a full £10,000 less per vehicle than MAN's competitor truck brand in our fleet – and against any other truck manufacturer, for that matter," says Damian Leigh, Jonesco's despatch manager. "For a three-vehicle fleet, that's a significant cost saving for our transport operation." The vehicles have 23ft-6in curtainsided bodies, by Fosters Commercials.
