Bus and coach manufacturer Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) has announced it is producing wheelchair-accessible Plaxton Leopard coaches to comply with the new PSV Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR), built to stock to meet customer requirements.
The new models are in addition to PSVAR-compliant versions of all Plaxton coach models when built to order, including a new side-mounted lift option on the Plaxton Panther (pictured).
The regulations require accessibility features such as wheelchair spaces, handrails, etc, on public service vehicles – standards for buses have already been phased in, with coaches needing to be fully accessible from 1 January 2020.
ADL says its PSVAR-compliant Leopard stock will be ready from the spring: the first 18 have already been sold, but availability remains from May onwards with vehicles completed throughout the year.
