Princess Royal to address Microlise transport conference

HRH the Princess Royal is to deliver the keynote address at Microlise’s Transport Conference (18 May 2016, Ricoh Arena, Coventry) in her capacity as patron of the transport charity Transaid.

The Princess Royal holds a Class 2 heavy goods vehicle licence and is an honorary member of the RHA (Road Haulage Association).

“We are honoured to welcome the Princess Royal to the Microlise Transport Conference and would like to thank Transaid for their support, in addition to the Transaid corporate members who leant their names to our proposal,” says Bob Harbey, executive director of Microlise, citing DAF, MAN, the RHA and FTA (Freight Transport Association).

“The conference remains a place where the big issues are not only discussed and debated, but it also acts as a catalyst for change,” he continues.

“The 2016 programme, including the Princess Royal’s contribution, is shaping up to be very exciting indeed.”

The day’s programme will be chaired by motoring journalist Quentin Willson, and will include speakers from across the industry – including transport operators, industry bodies and government.

In recent years, the Microlise Transport Conference has become one of the most important diary dates for transport industry professionals, attracting more than a thousand delegates in 2015.
