Range C ‘straightforward decision’ for John Vannet

Rigids Tippers
Owner-driver John Vannet has taken delivery of a 32-tonne Renault Range C, saying payload and dealer service made it “a straightforward decision”.

Vannet, who drives for Breedon Northern, ran a Renault Lander for five years. His latest acquisition, supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland, is a Range C430 8x4 with Weightlifter Smoothline insulated 22ft tipping body and Edbro tipping gear.

“I really liked the Lander, which I ran for five years, and the first-class service I’ve received from Renault Trucks’ agent David Philp Commercials was key to me choosing the brand again,” says Vannet.

“This, combined with a decent payload around the 20-tonne mark, meant it was a straightforward decision to choose the Range C for my replacement vehicle.”

Along with Kelsa light bars front, top and rear, two roof-mounted air horns and Alcoa aluminium wheels, he also specified heated seats, one-touch electric windows, air conditioning and leather steering wheel with cruise control.

“Such a large proportion of my life is spent on the road so I went for some nice optional extras to make life more comfortable,” he says.

“The truck’s been on the road for about a month and I love it. All of the work is on windy country roads, and I rarely touch a motorway or dual carriageway. The Range C is ideally suited to the work I do on challenging terrains – it’s manoeuvrable and robust, which means I can collect and deliver from all types of locations.

“It makes my day-to-day work easier and it really is a case of so far so good.”
