The new Stralis Hi-Way truck, from Iveco, has gained the title of International Truck of the Year for 2013 – the annual trophy awarded by 25 commercial vehicle magazines in Europe.
"We are proud of this award. The new Stralis sets a benchmark in efficiency, quality and value for the customer," commented Alfredo Altavilla, Iveco CEO, receiving the award.
"The vehicle is a true showcase of our revamped company strategy of being close to our customers, delivering excellent products," he added.
Stralis Hi-Way's features include the potential to reduce total cost of ownership and its proprietary selective catalytic reduction system (HI-eSCR), developed by FPT Industrial.
With this new technology on Cursor FPT Industrial engines, Stralis is also able to meet Euro 6 limits without the use of EGR (exhaust gas recirculation), making it the only heavy duty truck able to achieve that feat.
Iveco claims the new Stralis Hi-Way can help operators reduce operating costs by up to 4% over an average distance of 130,000km a year, for four years.
