Developed by TruTac, the RHA Daily Defect App goes a long way to making an HGV driver’s daily checks much easier, says the Road Haulage Association.
The App is the digital approach to ensuring compliance with drivers’ mandatory daily walk-around checks, and includes basic vehicle roadworthiness checks, such as brakes, tyres, lights and indicators, load and coupling security.
Any issues can be communicated directly to the operator’s traffic office, minimising downtime and enabling quicker vehicle repairs – while also giving transport managers full visibility of their fleet operations, and revealing how long drivers are spending on vehicle inspections.
The app, which is suitable for iPhone and Android devices, creates a full audit trail as daily checks are time-stamped.
