Yorkshire-based building supply and landscaping specialist Samco says it now only buys tippers from Thompsons because of their “strength, durability and reliability”.
Owner Sam Metcalfe says Thompsons Loadmasters. “are the absolute tops”, adding that, as a small operator only buying one or two tippers at a time, vehicle and body specifications have to be exactly right.
“Thompsons bodies might cost a bit extra, but you get that money back, and more, in the truck’s residual value, he says, “ adding that in his experience, a premium chassis with a premium Thompsons body is “the most cost-effective tipper to own”.
As for service, Metcalfe says: “I like the fact that if I have an issue on anything, I can ring Thompsons. I also like the fact that I will already know the person at Thompsons who I’m ringing.”
