The operator made the decision after reporting performance benefits from Goodyear’s FuelMax tyres and its solutions package, including FleetOnlineSolutions (FOS).
The web-based FOS tyre management system will be central to the contract, which covers supply and support of FuelMax new and retread tyres to Marcotran’s fleet of 700 trucks and 1,200 trailers.
With FOS, Macrotran depots and Goodyear’s TruckForce network sites can access fleet and contract details online and in the local language – making service and subsequent invoicing easier and quicker.
“We have tested tyres from Goodyear’s FuelMax range for three years, and are very satisfied with the mileage and fuel consumption achieved,” says Alberto Marco Lopez, Marcotran’s procurement director.
“That was one of the reasons that led us to sign this agreement, in addition to the added value of the many tyre management and follow-up tools that Goodyear provides us with,” he adds.
Marcotrans will also use Goodyear’s new eJob app, which enables data and images to be input directly into the FOS system from a job via a smartphone or tablet.
