Supplied by dealer Aquila Truck Centres, the Oldbury-based operator’s additions to its 18-strong fleet are its first Isuzu vehicles.
All are Urban 7.5-tonne N75.150 rigids: the Isuzu Forward 7.5-tonne chassis has been specified with a high-spec aluminium dropside body with side guards, nearside lights, four-way CCTV camera system, reversing sirens, pedestrian notification, and handrails around the complete body as well as an aluminium step up at the rear.
“After researching the current marketplace for 7.5-tonne vehicles, we felt that the Isuzu would be ideal to meet our operational requirements,” says Paul Rothero, transport manager at Trad Midlands.
“We worked very closely with the local Isuzu truck dealership, Aquila Truck Centres, to identify a high-spec quality vehicle that will provide us with maximum payload as well as FORS accreditation.
“In addition, much of our work involves social housing where the street locations are incredibly tight. The Isuzu is easy to manoeuvre around this type of urban environment, plus the triple seated Isuzu cab is big enough to accommodate our three-man operation,” he adds.
The new vehicles are expected to be in operation for five years.
