Translink Metro is taking delivery of 23 new Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 3 double deck buses, built on the Volvo B5TL chassis, which are now being phased into passenger service in Belfast.
The Euro 6 double-deckers are 10.6m in length and have a maximum passenger capacity of 90 with space for one wheelchair user and a manual ramp.
Also included are a number of features such as GRP wheel arches, an 11-camera CCTV system and an internal PA system.
One of the main aesthetic features are the glazed A pillars, which also add enhanced forward visibility for passengers. Other features include LED destination display, a bridge warning system, a branch deflector and driver’s workplace fittings, with a leather seat, sunblind, locker box and coat hook.
The new-look Gemini 3 was first unveiled in Translink Metro’s magenta livery on the Wrightbus stand at the 2015 Coach & Bus Live exhibition.
