Vehicle lifting business Stertil Koni has supplied 30 wireless mobile column lifts for the UK’s first commercial-scale hydrogen production and bus refuelling facility.
Located in Aberdeen and operated by BOC, the site also has a purpose-built hydrogen fuel cell vehicle maintenance facility, where Stertil's wireless column lifts are being used to lift hydrogen buses.
Each column is fitted with Stertil's eBright smart control system, with full-colour touchscreen consoles. Using the controls, workshop staff can operate the mobile columns individually, in pairs or other multiples as a set.
At the Aberdeen site, the 7.5-tonne capacity lifts are configured in five sets, each comprising six lifts to provide a total lifting capacity of 45 tonnes per set.
The lifts operate for a week on long-life deep cycle batteries. They are then recharged overnight via a 230V single phase supply.
