Uniroyal truck tyres move over to Bandvulc group

Tyres & Retreads
BVFirst – the wholesale business unit of Bandvulc, which was in turn acquired by Continental in July (2016) is be the exclusive UK supplier of Continental’s Uniroyal truck tyres from 1 January 2017.

This year (2016) has seen the Uniroyal brand developed with a new generation of tyres designed for performance and safety on regional and long-distance applications.

Uniroyal’s latest steer axle FH 40, drive axle DH 40 and trailer axle TH 40 tyres offer what Bandvulk managing director Patrick O’Connell describes as increased mileage, wet performance and reduced rolling resistance, as well as Euro 6 vehicle compatibility.

“Uniroyal has a strong heritage and a great range of tyres with proven performance,” states O’Connell.

“It makes a lot of sense for the group to distribute, manage and control the supply of Uniroyal in the UK, especially as we have established distribution operations,” he continues

“In addition to wholesaling the full Uniroyal range to commercial tyre service providers across the UK, we have also started to specify and fit Uniroyal tyres to our existing fleet portfolio managed through BVPLUS+,” he adds.

Uniroyal’s latest tyres feature a newly developed tread design, aimed at delivering high mileage and safety on wet roads, in line Uniroyal’s heritage.

The bead of the carcass has also been reinforced to increase durability, while the cord density has been re-optimised to cater for changing loads, and an inner liner prevents gradual loss of pressure.
