Volvo Buses notches up 3,000 hybrid sales

Volvo Buses has announced that it has passed the 3,000 mark for global sales of its hybrid, electric hybrid and all-electric buses – with the UK accounting for almost half of this total.

Volvo launched its first hybrid model in 2010 and, today, offers a range of electrified buses (hybrids, electric hybrids and all-electric), with 533 sales in 2016.

The hybrid vehicles are available in conventional 12-metre configuration, as articulated models, and as double-deckers.

Aside from the UK (1,425 of the 3,000 total), other major markets include Colombia (468), Sweden (196), Spain (137), Germany (135), Switzerland (129) and Norway (109).
